This is a great exercise and intro into mastering sharp, isolated hip locks, 3/4 shimmies and a fun method for counting your shimmies while you practice for syncing up your shimmies to the music you’re dancing to.
The song I used for shimmy drills at the end of class is called Front to Back by Buku. It’s my favorite shimmy drill track with solid counts for moving the hips over various foot patterns.
