The fixed and final air sign of the zodiac wheel.
Our beloved celestial, progressive humanitarian.
Tonight’s dance was written to honor and embody the spirit of Aquarius.
Ingenious, original, unpredictable, conductive, inventive, insightful, innovative, expansive and revolutionary.
Originally ruled by Saturn, Aquarius shook off those bonds to step into it’s unique and unprecedented, Uranian power of upheaval.
Aquarius is one of the oldest documented constellations, recorded in the second century by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy. Its name means “cup bearer” or “water bearer” in Latin.
They are committed to creating a large-scale impact from the ground up, which means these revolutionaries are all about macro change. Aquarius aspires to move the needle through radical social progress, so if they seem disinterested, it’s likely because the issue at hand isn’t community-focused.
Every Aquarian is a rebel at heart. Free-spirited and eccentric, they take pride in their non-conformist attitude.
Aquarius is located near other water-related constellations: Cetus (the whale), Pisces (the fish), Delphinus (the dolphin) and Eridanus (the river), in what is often referred to as the water or sea section of the sky.
Aquarius has also had various meanings and associations in other cultures. Babylonian astronomers identified the constellation as representing the god Ea, or “The Great One,” which was often pictured with an overflowing vessel. In ancient Egypt, the water bearer’s jar was said to cause the spring overflow of the Nile when it was dipped into the river. The Chinese astronomers viewed the “stream” as soldiers.
Being ruled by the planet Uranus provides them with an unpredictably clever streak, capable of absorbing the spirit of the new age. Known for becoming revolutionaries, reformers and inventors.
Uranus is the cosmic alarm-clock.
It’s the planet of breakthroughs. And as the higher octave of Mercury, it relates to the genius streak of the mind.
The Tarot card associated with Aquarius is The Star – which is one of the most beneficial trump cards of the major arcana, indicating universal blessings and renewal.
