Our 3 part dance saga dedicated to Persephone has finally arrived. During this embodiment series we will be working with her closely as a guiding light through our sacred time of renewal with the imminent unfurling of Spring. As we are currently in the stillness of the heart of winter and what the ancients referred to as the time of the underworld upon earth, Persephone encourages us to look within and dig deep to embrace our shadow and focus on self care as we prepare ourselves for the arrival of Imbolc and the Year of the Dragon.

Check out the Coven Companion for learning about Persephone through the ages and how to begin working with her here:

The Coven Power Prompts are also available for you to work with including altar suggestions, journal prompts, ritual guidance, oracular wisdom and a custom tarot spread for beginning our journey of reclamation and renewal with Persephone here:

The Dance of Persephone – Part 1 depicts her as the sovereign ruler of her underworld kingdom. A dance of regality and grace with the thought provoking and complex beauty that we have come to know as shadow.

For this class, please come prepared with a candle, something SWEET TO BURN for Persephone, hydration and something fun to tie around your waist.

DANCE OF CIRCE: PART II – ENCHANTRESS ENTRHONED

For the second installment of the Dance of Circe embodiment series, she takes us into the heart of her throne room, where her powerful enchantments were enacted and immortalized in the passionate hearts of all future witches who would follow in her trailblazing footsteps. Famously written into the minds and mythos of our ancestors. Circe’s magic is alive and legendary in this towering, otherworldly chamber, where the witch flame fuels her enticing concoctions of mystery, ecstasy and even dread.

Please come prepared with your CHALICE, something wonderful to burn as an offering to Circe, a candle, hydration of choice and something fun to tie around your waist.

It’s also not a bad idea to brush up on CIRCE PART I beforehand, although I will be recapping it at the tail-end of this class, I will only be covering the new movements in depth.

DANCE OF CIRCE PART II: DEMONSTRATED

DANCE OF CIRCE: PART I

This dance is sultry and beguiling. The dance of an underworld enchantress. It involves working with a CHALICE. So make sure you have a stemmed goblet that is not glass (or on the thicker side) to prevent breakage.

(the audio is the best I could get it to be on my new tablet, which I ultimately realized just isn’t compatible with my audio setup, so everything is audible + some white noise. It’s not terrible, and also not ideal – so I am replacing my tablet again this week hahaha.)

Known by many as a daughter of Hekate, whilst in other sources of lore, in the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, from the womb of Perse an Oceanid Nymph and daughter of Oceanus- Circe is born. But Circe is a strange child – not obviously powerful like her father, not viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power – the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves. (From CIRCE by Madaline Miller).

For the remainder of 2023 we will be diving deep into the realm of Circe – Circe was one of the most powerful enchantresses of Greek mythology, who some call a witch and some a goddess. This parentage made Circe sister to another powerful sorceress, Pasiphae, wife of Midas, as well as Perses and Aeetes, famous kings of Greek mythology. Whilst, Perses and Aeetes were not known for their magical abilities, a niece of Circe, Medea certainly was.

Of the three female sorceresses, Circe, Pasiphae and Medea, Circe was regarded as the most powerful of the three, and able to concoct powerful potions, but Circe was also said to have power to hide the sun and moon as she willed. Circe was also known to call upon the assistance of “dark” deities, in the form of Chaos, Nyx and Hecate. Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs. Through the use of these and a magic wand or staff, she would transform her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals.
